Petit Folks story

MY STORY

I'm Marta, mother of Júlia (3 years old) and Roger (22 months old), as well as an entrepreneur. After years in advertising, marketing, and technological projects, motherhood turned my life around. That's where Petit Folks came from, out of a necessity: when Júlia started singing songs that I didn't know, I created some cards with images to play with her, encouraging her to decide which songs she wanted to sing.

Little by little, I evolved the game, which went from being something very simple and improvised to a solid learning project based on music and traditional children's songs, which standardizes a teaching method from the early education stage in schools, now also at home.

After almost 3 years, we continue with this play routine almost every day! Being a mother and an entrepreneur is a challenge, but Petit Folks allows me to combine both roles. Although I don't always have all the time I wish to play with them, when we do play, the time I dedicate to them is quality time, which is the most important thing.

If you're looking for a game to learn and share, our thematic boxes with songs, available in Spanish, English, and Catalan, are perfect.

WHY PETIT FOLKS?

Embarking on the journey of language acquisition can be an exhilarating adventure that can commence in early childhood, specially when approached in a playful and engaging way. At Petit Folks, we believe in harnessing the power of folk songs, repetition, and imaginative play to cultivate speech and the love for languages, promote holistic development, and build cultural knowledge.

In today's digital age, finding resources for preschool kids that foster independence and creativity in speech and language learning can be a challenge. Most options lead to videos or electronic games, limiting children's independence and imagination. Traditional formats like books, while valuable, often rely heavily on adult guidance.

That's why we've designed a sensory game that places children at the center of this learning experience. Our sustainable, ethical, and enduring game is suitable for all ages, with a specific focus on children from one to six years old. It's a timeless and long lasting game that grows with your child.

At the heart of Petit Folks are folk songs, carefully selected and beautifully presented in a series of collectible boxes, each classified by engaging themes. Inside each box, you'll find 16 song cards, featuring song lyrics on one side and enchanting drawings representing the songs on the other. These captivating illustrations and charming characters come together to create a unique visual world that sparks imagination and curiosity.

But Petit Folks doesn't stop there. When the cards are joined together, they form a one-of-a-kind puzzle, encouraging children to explore and assemble the pieces while deepening their connection to the songs and themes. To complement the physical experience, we've also developed an accompanying app as a tool for parents and caregivers. The app provides access to a range of resources, including our distinctive interpretations of the songs without screen visuals, printable drawings ready for coloring, and age-appropriate activities tailored to various developmental stages.
