Toys don’t have a gender. What matters is the play 💛

When we choose a toy, we’re not just deciding what will be placed in their hands. We’re also sending messages. Colors, illustrations, packaging… even the way toys are advertised communicates something. Things children absorb, even if we never say them out loud.
Labels like “for girls” or “for boys” are nothing more than social constructs. And although they may sometimes seem harmless, they can restrict learning opportunities, limit exploration, and assign roles before children even understand what they mean.
At Petit Folks, we work the other way around: our toys, songs, and illustrations are neutral and inclusive. We don’t point, we don’t label, we don’t follow stereotypes. We want every child to explore freely, choose what draws them in, and discover rhythms, colors, sounds, and movement without feeling limited.
It’s our adult perspective that can open up play, remove barriers, and allow each child to discover what truly interests them. Because free play is where curiosity, creativity, and learning are born. 🌱
