A few days ago I came across a quote by Dr. Bruce Perry that really struck me: "The best toy a child can have is a parent who gets down on the floor and plays with them".
We live in a non-stop "doing" era. It is incredibly hard for us to sit on the rug without checking our phones or thinking about the endless to-do list. We feel guilty if we stop because we’ve been raised to believe that resting or playing is a waste of time.
