Our little ones long for our phones. Among other reasons, because they always see us with them in hand. But there are days when they realize they are competing with the phone. That the phone is stealing their mom’s or dad’s attention.
I remember when my daughter was around 2 years old, she would get really upset and say to me, "Mom, no phone!" What she meant was, "Mom, pay attention to me," "Mom, look at me, I'm here."
In those moments when it's necessary to return to the present, reconnect with our little ones, and make them feel supported and understood, you can sit on the floor and sing a song with them.
