Less is more

Less is more

With Christmas just around the corner, it’s easy to fall into the temptation of filling the house with new toys for our little ones. But something I’ve learned over time is that, when it comes to toys, less is more.

At home, we have plenty of toys, like most families. However, in the end, there are certain toys that always stand out, the ones my kids come back to over and over again, and that have proven to be lasting companions. In our case, the favorites are the play kitchen, musical toys (including Petit Folks), and construction games. They all have something in common: they’re open-ended, which allows each child to decide how to play, adapting to their developmental stage.

These key toys enable deeper, longer-lasting play. While other toys get rotated or are stored in less accessible places, these always remain in their play area because they’re the ones that truly engage them.

When buying toys, remember: less is more. A more minimalist approach not only allows for deeper play but also gives them the chance to explore for longer and enjoy more meaningful playtime.

And at your home, which toys are the biggest hits?
