If They Need to Scream, Let Them Scream!

If They Need to Scream, Let Them Scream!

Talking to our little ones about what they feel can be quite a challenge, right? Sometimes, we don't even know how to express what we feel. But teaching them to recognize and express their emotions is fundamental for their emotional development.

Music is a fantastic way to achieve this. Children's songs can help kids identify and express their feelings in a playful and safe manner. For example, if they are sad, a song about sadness can help them name that emotion and feel understood.

Petit Folks song cards allow kids to identify with different characters according to their mood, facilitating the introduction of emotions and understanding why they feel the way they do.

Here's an example: in the Animal World box, there is a song called “Oh Where Has My Little Dog Gone.” In the illustration, there is a child who is sad because they can't find their puppy. This can be a perfect song to introduce and normalize sadness.

Or in the Jugar y moverse box, you’ll find the song “Si tú tienes muchas ganas de aplaudir”. Besides being a fun song for playing and dancing, it encourages them to express what they feel while respecting others. If they need to scream, let them scream. If they need to laugh, let them laugh. And so on with many other actions and emotions.
