Are all children’s songs appropriate?

Here’s something curious: one of the first songs my daughter ever sang isn’t part of Petit Folks. It was “El gall i la gallina.” Does it ring a bell? It’s the one where the rooster kisses the hen while she’s sleeping… without her consent. I won’t go into details, but I think you can imagine why I didn’t include it.

The truth is, children’s songs are a fundamental part of our little ones’ learning. If they weren’t, I wouldn’t have created an entire game based on them. But here’s the thing: not all children’s songs are appropriate.

The songs that have made it to the present day have done so because, over the years, they’ve been passed down from generation to generation. They’re loved by both kids and adults, and they’re full of valuable lessons. But, as I was saying, not everything goes. That’s why, in Petit Folks, I’ve taken the time to carefully select each song, ensuring they convey respectful and positive values and align with what we want to teach our children.

Is there a song your little one sings that you’d rather they didn’t? I’d love to hear from you!
